Assoc. Professor Frühauf, MD, MSc is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon in Austria. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Vienna in 2001. In the same year, she began clinical and fundamental research at the Department of Pediatrics and Neurology, Medical University Vienna. She then completed her internship at the Department of Cardiology, Technical University of Dresden, the emergency hospital UKH Salzburg, and the Department of Surgery, Medical University of Graz.
In 2008, she received a Master of science degree in Telemedicine from the FH Joanneum Graz, Austria. In 2009, she completed her dermatology residency at the Department of Dermatology, Medical University Graz, and she obtained her Habilitation (post-doctoral lecturing qualification) in 2012 with a thesis on mobile teledermatology. Within the teledermatology field she is considered among the pioneers of mobile teledermatology to promote partnerships between patients and physicians, and to facilitate patient self-management.
In 2010 she began her private dermatology office in Maria Enzersdorf near Vienna, providing treatment of disorders of the skin, hair and nails for adults and children, in addition to providing state-of-the-art cosmetic, laser and surgical treatment.
As an Associate Professor in Dermatology she is well published and a speaker at National and European meetings. She feels obliged to conduct research that benefits the public’s health, and she is active in the teaching and mentoring of nurses at her dermatology office.
